PTA 2025-2026 Futsal League Rules

Supervision & Facility Rules

  • Players must remain under parental supervision when not participating in a game in the designated spectator area.
  • Players should not wander around the school premises.
  • No food or drinks are allowed inside the gym.
  • If a player is seen unsupervised, the parent will receive a text message immediately.

 

General

  1. Indoor or turf shoes only – NO cleats
  2. Shin guards are mandatory – no shin guards = NO play
  3. PTA Game Jerseys: Home Team Royal, Away team White (for players without game jerseys, use royal training shirt and white training vest)
  4. Black shorts and socks for everyone
  5. Players must arrive 5 minutes before game time
  6. Game duration: League weeks 1-8, 30-40 minute games with running clock, no half
    time (each team plays 1 game); water break, if needed, will not stop clock.
  7. Replacement(s) for absent players will be designated by PTA Soccer (team
    members will not choose replacement player)

 

Laws of the Games

  1. Rules will follow FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game except as outlined here
  2. End walls are out; far wall is in play; at near wall, green line is used
  3. Corner kicks will be used (taken from the green line)
  4. For corner kicks, kick-offs, free kicks, and goal kicks – defense must allow at least 3 steps of space and ball must be placed on ground, not moving
  5. No slide tackles, inappropriate shoulder charges, or excessively physical play
  6. No playing from the ground
  7. Foul accumulation: penalty kick awarded for every 3 fouls
  8. All restarts must be taken within a 4 second count (free kicks, corners, etc.)
  9. Penalty area extends full width of field, out to (and including) the first (large) lane
    block mark
  10. Goalie: no punts or drop-kicks, and cannot throw the ball in the air past own half
  11. Goalie: other than the above restrictions, free to play like any other player (dribble &
    pass)
  12. Pass-back: unlimited pass-backs to goalie (subject to modification/limitation by
    referee)
  13. Rules may be added or altered at any time; changes will be communicated to
    players before matches.

 

League Standings and Tiebreakers

3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss

Tiebreakers:

  1. Head-to-Head Record (if two teams tied, otherwise skip to next tiebreaker)
  2. Goal Differential
  3. Goals For
  4. Goals Against
